SILVER AMERICAN EAGLES
1986-1998
The silver American
Eagle (99.93% Silver) contains one troy ounce of silver and has a legal tender face value
of $1.00. The obverse was used for the Liberty Walking Half Dollar (1916-1947) and
was designed by Adolph Weinman. The reverse, a heraldic eagle, was designed by John
Mercanti. The American Silver Eagles are available in either proof or uncirculated.
The proofs come cased and boxed. The 1995-W proof was only available with the
purchase of the 4 piece gold set. The price below is for the silver eagle only.
